A New Beginning – August 14

So a two week pause.  One week had a good excuse, the second one didn’t.

Not to worry, we’re back in the groove.

Showing off our new “hometown” to our daughter was great fun.  She was really, really impressed.

Which brings me to this week’s topic – how much we really like this area.  Now if you only read these posts you may think “Everybody knows that”.  Here’s the funny part – it’s the subject of one of the most common questions I get these days.  Lots of people ask if we like living here.  So let me put the issue to rest.  Do we like living here?

OH MY GOD!!!!!!

We have loved it so far.  Love the weather, including the heat and humidity.  Love the opportunities.  Love the people.  Love being surrounded by such great history.  Love living with a pool just steps away from our door.

We are truly falling in love with the place.

So stop worrying.

  • Grumpy Viriginian Census – Still at zero, thought I’d found a grumpy local.  Turned out they were from Georgia.
  • Hoping to finish the transition to being a Virginian this week.  New plates on the way, need to get the car inspected then I can shed the last piece of New York.  Yes, there is a certain sadness attached to that too.
  • We may have found our new Sunday brunch place – Brick House Diner on Midlothian Turnpike.  Relaxed, family atmosphere, good food at a good price.  Very popular though.

It’s a new beginning.
